Romeo, in all his orange wisdom, recently decided that his automatic litter box needed help disposing of
  • 05
his pee clumps. His box, which he's had and used for six months without issues, waits a minute after
  • 06
he leaves before it rotates and dumps into the collection tray. Pretty standard, right? Well
  • 07
apparently he just learned about this delay. A few weeks ago, he started watching it when it rotated.
  • 08
Apparently on Thursday of last week, he decided it needed help, so he now waits 45 seconds after
  • 09
peeing, then jumps back in and breaks up the clump before it. rotates. I typically check his box
  • 10
every other day just to make sure everything looks okay (his box has an app so I can see how often and
  • 11
how long he's in). I noticed he didn't really have any big clumps like he normally did, but there was
  • 12
still clearly small clumps. I called his normal vet, and they were concerned he could have a partial
  • 13
block and sent me to the ER vet. The ER vet ran a number of tests, didn't see anything out of the
  • 14
ordinary, and determined that it was probably stress related because we've had a lot of
  • 15
thunderstorms recently and Romeo hates thunder.
  • 16
It was only because I didn't leave my living room (where his food, water, and box are) that I noticed
  • 17
his new habit. He's healthy, he's using the box perfectly fine. He's just a gremlin who decided to
  • 18
suggested I get Romeo as an ESA for my severe anxiety, and now he's causing me so much anxiety lol
  • 19
The second is bribing him with a licky tube after he took his medicine (before I put two and two
  • 20
together). The last is his prize after rummaging in my clean laundry. I tend to forget to take paper

money out of my pockets, but Romeo always finds it and steals it when I do a load of laundry. The

money was 100% used to buy turkey/sweet potato treats
